North Staffs Advice Network Meeting - Free to all

Invitation to North Staffs Advice Network Universal Credit Event

The North Staffordshire Advice Network is holding a meeting at Hanley Community Fire Station on Wednesday 16th January 2019 at 2pm-4pm, to discuss the problems that many claimants are experiencing since the introduction of full service Universal Credit and to look at ways in which we can work together to support claimants.

  • Tina Mendolia will be giving a short presentation about the findings of our recent surveys on Universal Credit and there will be an opportunity to discuss some of the problems that are being experienced by UC claimants.
  • Simon Harris the CEO of Citizens Advice Staffordshire North and Stoke-on-Trent will be giving a presentation on the ‘Help to Claim’ UC service that will be starting in Newcastle Borough and Staffordshire Moorlands in January and Stoke-on-Trent in April 2019 to explain how this service will work.
  • We have also invited representatives from the DWP who will be available to answer questions about UC and we hope to have the new Partnership Adviser who starts in January (replacing James Harper-Ibbs).

We have booked Hanley Fire Station’s community room, so we can hold the meeting in the middle of the week, however numbers are limited and so we would ask that you book as soon as possible to be sure of a place.  If we are oversubscribed we may need to limit the number of people from each agency to ensure that each agency has at least one representative.

The meeting is free for all staff and community groups working with Universal Credit claimants, City Councillors and MPs.  If you are interested in attending please contact Chris Unwin – chris.unwin@snscab.org.uk.

Make sure you get an invitation to future events by signing up for the mailing list
